The New Year and The Old (1948 & 1949)

This Poem came from Rhymes of Bible Doctrine (and other poems) written in 1949 by Benj. F. Dotson. I was given the booklet by my good friend, Dr. Dennis J. Brown. jnh

The new year, January one,

Tells us another year’s begun;

Adding one more span to the years,

Before the age-end soon appears;

Old nineteen hundred forty-eight,

Brought us so many things of fate;

The world’s outlook is not so bright,

The peace we hope is not in sight.

Nations are seething and in fear,

Worrying much that war is near;

They do not have that peace and calm,

For fear of the atomic bomb;

They fear America they say;

That is war we will lead the way;

They should know war of aggression,

Would ne’er be waged by this nation.

America wants lasting peace,

For wars of ev’ry kind to cease;

That nations should dwell together,

Doing good to one another;

Laying aside all suspicion,

Ev’ry act of indiscretion;

Live in harmony day by day,

We’re sure this is the Bible way.

But it won’t be, we’re sad to tell,

It would defeat a devil’s hell;

‘Twould also contradict the word,

Its revelations of the sword;

The age-end is too close in war,

Its Tribulation’s exit door;

It will bring the millennium,

That glorious age yet to come.

Cheer up, sad heart, lift up thy head,

There is One risen from the dead;

His soon return we are assured,

To reward those who have endured

The trials and sufferings for His sake,

Oh, let us for Him undertake;

His oft reproaches gladly bear,

Until we meet Him in the air.

Too Good For Just A Comment - The Devil's Brother

Charlie Carle sent me his comment and it was just too good and important a comment not to be posted so folks wouldn't miss it. Bro. Jeff.

Concerning The Devil’s Brother, I received this comment.

Happybeinglds comment - I just want to know why so many good "Christians" are so threatened by the Latter-Day Saints. Why are you so afraid of us that you (and so many others) feel the need to point out all of our faults? I don't see LDS members going through the history of the Catholic Popes to find errors in their doctrinal teachings.

Charlie’s reply -

Typically, any members of false religions feel persecuted to be exposed. With the JWs for example, to read their old issues is to see what their leaders said - but Christians are not supposed to know that so it offends them to quote their literature. Some Germans deny their history regarding the Jews but just look at the facts. Religious people generally miss that approval by God is not about feeling good, religious systems and experiences.

The Bible is about honouring TRUTH!

This allegation simply isn't true.

For example, to see the recent LDS films about Joseph Smith, it is sanitized and re-written history. They bait the world! The stories are about a poor prophet martyr-man with his lovely wife. So how do the LDS overlook all that about polygamy and over 30 wives?

The Christians are portrayed as confused, wild-eyed, ignorant devils who just love to persecute and kill. A fool burns a building with children in it and they laugh like madmen with the association being from Christians. So the hankies come out and the audience sniffles and dries their tears but it’s about as real as an animated "Rescuers Down Under."

The LDS talk about the murder of their martyr, but who tells about the old-west style gun-fighter who killed two men before he died? His gun is in the LDS museum across the street from Temple Square. The mob who took him out is continually implied to be the Christians but it was the Masons.

Those Masons warned Joseph Smith not to steal their secrets or else pay the price by blood so what did he expect? The stolen Masonic handshake is on the LDS temple in Salt Lake City. The LDS "sacred garments" include Mason markings. The ceremonies have been much the same but with some recent changes.

So the comment is really a mute point. LDS doctrine says you need to be sealed in their temple and be perfect with their commandments to live with God. That is nothing but lying "doctrines of devils" (1 Timothy 4:1).

The false religions do not intimidate us. We do not have as much problem with it as God does. He directs us to "contend", a biblical word meaning "fight". It is not "contentious" so we are not to attack personalities but simply to defend truth. Mormons, Roman Catholics, JWs etc get a spirit of contention over it but we are only obeying the Lord to "exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" (Jude 1:3).

As believers, we identify with Jesus as He exposed the worst hypocrites of the best religion of His day. He could look them in the eye as He exposed them and repeatedly called them a snake-in-the-grass (Matthew 23).

Clearly, our Lord was a lot harder on false religion than Christians are today. We sympathize with people who have been taught in error but we are going to keep witnessing and sharing the truth.

THE DEVIL'S BROTHER -Mitt and Mike

Was Mike Huckabee responding to wrong information to ask, "Don’t Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?" Was his question just too misleading or was Mormon Mitt simply too embarrassed to respond? The national security for presidents relies upon responding to accuracy, so the question really matters. While Bible Christianity invites research into the history, prophecy, archeology and scientific facts to reveal credibility, why is Mormonism easily offended about investigation? Mitt Romney as a Mormon claims the Christian faith but then is he comfortable with examination? Every American president faces continual public scrutiny, so these LDS excuses are bound to fall upon hard times.

According to a Mormon prophet
we discover "the Savior's example . . . when he was on the mountain with his fallen brother, Lucifer . . ." (The Miracle of Forgiveness, Spencer W. Kimball, p. 216).

According to a LDS church publication,
Jesus is the spirit brother of Lucifer ("Ensign", June 1986, p. 25).

According to Marion G. Romney,
cousin of Mitt’s father and former councilor in the First Presidency of the LDS Church, "Lucifer, who kept not his first estate, was angry when God chose Christ to go to earth" (Church News, 11 February 1978, p. 3).

According to a member of the LDS First Council of the Seventy,
"Lucifer . . . this spirit-brother of Jesus desperately tried to become the Savior of mankind" (The Gospel Through the Ages, Milton R. Hunter, 1945 ed., p. 15). This book is official doctrine since the title page reads, "Written and published under the direction of the General Priesthood Committee of the Council of the Twelve of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." Projecting the same scenario, if Lucifer only had the better plan of salvation, we would find Luciferians and no Christians. If anyone was willing to celebrate in that state, it would be Lucifermas instead of Christmas.

According to a prominent Mormon apostle,
"Lucifer, the son of the morning, is our elder brother and the brother of Jesus Christ" (Mormon Doctrine, Bruce McConkie, p. 163-164). The LDS often speak of our older brother, Jesus, yet little is said about an older brother, the devil.

The alleged account according to Mormonism
is how Jesus, billions of people, the angels and devils all became spirit-children through sex from an exalted man named "heavenly father" with one of his goddess wives in a place called pre-existence. Considering this theory of a man-god having sexual relations, he could not ever keep up with our rate of birth on earth.

What are the biblical distinctions?
The devils are fallen angels by nature, different from God and differing from humans. People are human by nature and never to be gods in embryo. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are by nature the eternal God so the Godhead role is already taken. Idolatry’s confusion is to worship idols, people, or the devil to be true gods. Satan is the god of this world but these are merely "called gods" (1 Cor. 8:5) and never to be the Almighty and eternal God by nature.

Does the Alpha and Omega have a brother?
To say that Jesus is Lucifer’s brother is like insisting that Henry W. Ford is the brother of a car. Or its like saying Thomas Edison is the brother of a light bulb. How could the First and the Last ever create an equal? The Son made the worlds (Heb. 1:2). The Lord made the heavens and its hosts (Psalm 33:6). God the Son made "all things" (John 1:3). How much is all things? Jesus creating "all things" made the dominions of angels which includes the devils (Colossians 1:16-17) and Lucifer (Ezekiel 28:13-15).

What is the conclusion then?
Either Mormonism or Christianity has to have the wrong Jesus. The LDS prophet stated in Paris, many "have said we are not Christians. ‘Mormons are not Christians,’ they say; they do not believe in the traditional Christ. No, I don’t. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak" (LDS Church News, Gordon B. Hinckley, January, 1999; June 20, 1998, p.7). Thank you for the honesty as you are exactly who the Scriptures have warned about, "For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached" (2 Corinthians 11:4). "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect" (Matthew 24:24).

Is Jesus the devil’s brother or the eternal God?
The answer is clear on the preface page of the Book of Mormon, "JESUS is the CHRIST, the ETERNAL GOD" (the BM capitals were included for emphasis). So at the inception of the Mormon faith in 1830, the LDS were exactly right while identifying Jesus Christ. And still the proof remains for Mormons to see in every Book of Mormon. The LDS continual drift of faith was closer to Christianity at that point of time than at any time since its inception.

How could Jesus be the brother of the devil and not the brother of the devil?
If so, Jesus was created and uncreated. Jesus did not create all things, yet He created all things. Jesus was born as a spirit-child, yet He is eternally God. Jesus earned his salvation, yet is the Savior from sin.
Mormons are eager to offer you the Book of Mormon but not their other scriptures, the Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price. Why? I think the reason is very clear as we will see.

THE BOOK OF MORMON TEACHES:

- The truth
that there is an eternal God (Ether 8:23).

- The truth
that there is only one God (Alma 11:27-29).

- The truth
that Jesus is God (Ether 3:17-18).

- The truth
that Christ is the Lord God Omnipotent, creator of all things and above all (Mosiah 5:15).

- The truth
of the trinity, "Christ the Son, and God the Father, and the Holy Spirit, which is one Eternal God" (Alma 11:44; Testimony of Three Witnesses).

-The truth
that God is Spirit (Alma 18:26-29; 22:8-11; 31:15). These speaking in Alma are not being corrected for error. No LDS teaching from 1830 to 1842 would contradict this. Yet Joseph Smith refuted it all to claim that God does have a body of flesh and bones (Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith - History 1:17; Doctrine and Covenants 130:22; Mormon Doctrine pp. 321, 567-577).

- The heresy
of Modalism that Jesus is the same person as the Father (Ether 3:14; 4:7-12; Mosiah 15:1-5).

- The heresy
(1830 ed.) that Jesus is "the Son of the only begotton of the Father." An "of" makes Jesus the grandson of the heavenly Father, or that He is His own Son (Alma 5:48, p. 236, line 29).

THE DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS says:

- The truth
in 1830 that God is everlasting and unchangeable, the only true God, and the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are one God (D&C 20:17, 19, 28).

- The truth
in 1831 that Jesus Christ "is from all eternity to all eternity, the Great I AM" (D&C 39:1).

- The heresy
in 1839 when Joseph Smith was not sure "whether there be one God or many gods . . ."

- The heresy
in 1843 that men can become gods (D&C 132:20). Mormonism is cut-and-paste with a long history of man changing god. The Bible writers and the Jews were monotheists who believed in one true God.

THE PEARL OF GREAT PRICE claims:
The creation account of the Bible was rewritten to be the product from a council of Gods (Pearl of Great Price, Abraham 4 & 5).

MORMON DOCTRINE reads:

The heresy
of Jesus being one god of three: "There are three Gods--the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost--who, though separate in personality, are united as one in purpose, in plan, and in all the attributes of perfection" (p. 317). Three Gods can never be one God if language means anything at all. Scriptures of the one godhead being three Persons can never be rightly interpreted as three gods.

The heresy
that Jesus was a sinner who progressed to become worthy, "Christ attained Godhood while yet in pre-existence" (p. 323). An earmark of heresy is a distorted view of God to diminish Jesus or to deify man into becoming a god.

The heresy
that Jesus is the spirit child of a Heavenly Mother and Heavenly Father. Since there is nothing in scripture about a Mother God, McConkie cites a popular Mormon hymn for evidence (Mormon Doctrine, pp. 516-517). It’s too obvious! Wouldn’t God surely know His own wife if He had one? (Isaiah 44:8).

JOSEPH SMITH LATER TAUGHT:

The heresy
shortly before his death in 1844, that "We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea . . . he was once a man like us . . . you have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests to God, the same as all Gods have done before you" (Mormon Doctrine p. 321; Journal of Discourses, vol. 6, pp.3-4).

It makes you wonder then why the LDS angel, Moroni, never became a god.
Joseph Smith went from one God to preach an unrefined paganism about a myriad of Gods and to say that men can be Gods. Isn’t this exactly what Satan wants us to think? (Genesis 3:5). God forewarned us about these false gods to protect His people, to keep truth pure and to censure false prophets (Deuteronomy 13:1-5). How could the LDS consider him to be a credible prophet after he refuted the Bible, the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants? Joseph Smith effectively swept the whole foundation of his LDS church right into the theological ashcan.

BRIGHAM YOUNG
TAUGHT FOR ABOUT 25 YEARS IN THE LDS GENERAL CONFERENCE:

The heresy
that Adam is God (JD, 1:50-51, 1854; see Doctrine and Covenants 27:11). This Adam-God of Brigham’s theology was Heavenly Father who went to have physical sex with Mary. That destroys the Virgin Birth and led in his theology to God having incest with His daughter (Mormon Doctrine, pp. 546-547). What happens to people when spiritual leaders do not know God? It seems ironic to have a university named after him.

ARE MORMONS CHRISTIANS?
The LDS church spends millions on a vast PR campaign to redefine Mormonism into Christianity. The LDS people believe this to be true as they sincerely claim that they are Christians. Yet, how can a religion keep redefining God and ever be regarded as Christians? The LDS have the same problem as Mitt in that they cannot be clear about what they believe and yet sound orthodox enough to convince others.

Joseph Smith
fired the first shot as he had no tolerance for Christians. The bashing began from the inception to say, "they were all wrong . . . their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt" (Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith - History 1:18-20).

Brigham Young
preached with contempt, "The Christian world, so called, are heathens as to their knowledge of salvation of God." And "With regard to true theology, a more ignorant people never lived than the present so-called Christian world" (Journal of Discourses 8:171, 199).

The Book of Mormon
charges Christianity as "the church of the devil . . . the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth" (1 Nephi 14:10) and all who trust in the Bible alone are "fools" (2 Nephi 29:3-6).

The Doctrine and Covenants
claim the LDS church is "the only true and living church upon the face of the whole earth, with which I, the Lord, am well pleased" (1:30) and Christians "build up the kingdom of the devil" (10:56).

CAN MORMONISM BE EXCLUDED FROM CHISTIANITY?
A Mormon writer claims there is no way to exclude them but Jesus corrected him in Matthew 7:21-23. Why are our Mormon friends so insulted if you ask, "When did you become Christians?" Were there any apologies over its history? Have the LDS embraced the truth? Has the church recanted? The Christian world naturally looks on with dismay! All of the LDS "scriptures" have drastically changed in their brief history. The present prophet never prophesies or writes what they call scripture. Those who have prophesied rarely were ever close to getting anything right. Therefore, Mormonism can never be considered another Christian denomination until it honestly denounces all of their doctrinal heresies.

The LDS seem shocked that we cannot consider Mormonism to be Christian.
But what they do not understand is that no true Christian assigns the title of "Christian" to anyone simply upon the basis of belonging to a certain church. In comparison, Christians do not claim to be Mormons since we do not believe the LDS teachings. The LDS cannot claim to be Christians when they do not believe the clear Bible doctrines. So if the Jesus of Mormonism is false, the LDS faith is false; meaning worthless, useless or "vain" (1 Corinthians 15:2, 14, 17). The value of our faith is not from its great size but is due to the object in which it is placed. The greatest faith in someone who is false is as no faith at all. A person's sincerity or their false messiahs can never bridge the gap from sin to God.

Mitt Romney
: Can he stand scrutiny?
Mormonism has many defenders but no defense. For anyone to sensibly examine the depths of Mormonism is to reject it, but to simply be charmed by the veneer is often to embrace it. Consequently, if Mitt wants Christian votes more than Mormon dollars, he must renounce the long hostility against biblical Christianity. If not, it’s obvious that he agrees with the past and present positions of the LDS church.

Who is the Mormon Jesus? Is he the devil’s brother?
If you have the wrong Jesus, you are wrong for all of eternity. But if you have the same Jesus as the disciples, you are right for all eternity. The disciple's Jesus is "My Lord and my God" (John 20:28). Jesus, as the good Rabbi, would have corrected Thomas if what he said was wrong. Rather He affirms the truth in the next verse to say in effect, exactly right! Jesus is God, the second Person of the Trinity. As the Father said to the Son, "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever" (Heb. 1:8).

'Twas The Day After Christmas -

'Twas the day after Christmas, and all through the house,

Every creature was hurting-- even the mouse.

The toys were all broken, their batteries dead;

Santa passed out, with some ice on his head.

Wrapping and ribbons just covered the floor, while

Upstairs the family continued to snore.

And I in my T-shirt, new Reeboks and jeans,

Went into the kitchen and started to clean.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the sink to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,

Tore open the curtains, and threw up the sash.

When what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a little white truck, with an oversized mirror.

The driver was smiling, so lively and grand;

The patch on his jacket said "U.S. POSTMAN."

With a handful of bills, he grinned like a fox

Then quickly he stuffed them into our mailbox.

Bill after bill, after bill, they still came.

Whistling and shouting he called them by name:

"Now Dillard's, now Broadway's, now Penney's and Sears

Here's Levitz's and Target's and Mervyn's--all here!!

To the tip or your limit, every store, every mall,

Now chargeaway-chargeaway-chargeaway all!"

He whooped and he whistled as he finished his work.

He filled up the box, and then turned with a jerk.

He sprang to his truck and he drove down the road,

Driving much faster with just half a load.

Then I heard him exclaim with great holiday cheer,

"ENJOY WHAT YOU GOT ... YOU'LL BE PAYING ALL YEAR!"

Just Talked w/ Andy from Iraq

Christmas in The Dust
======================

I had no Christmas spirit
when I breathed a weary sigh,
And looked across the table
where the bills were piled too high.

The laundry wasn't finished
and the car I had to fix,
My stocks were down another point,
the Dolphins lost by six.

And so with only minutes
till my son got home from school
I gave up on the drudgery
and grabbed a wooden stool.

The burdens that I carried
were about all that I could take,
And so I flipped the TV on
to catch a little break.

I came upon a desert scene
in shades of tan and rust,
No snowflakes hung upon the wind,
just clouds of swirling dust.

And where the reindeer should have stood
before a laden sleigh,
Eight Hummers ran a column
right behind an M1A.

A group of boys walked past the tank,
not one was past his teens.
Their eyes were hard as polished flint,
their faces drawn and lean.

They walked the street in armor
with their rifles shouldered tight,
Their dearest wish for Christmas,
just to have a silent night.

Other soldiers gathered,
hunkered down against the wind,
To share a scrap of mail and dreams
of going home again.

There wasn't much at all
to put their lonely hearts at ease,
They had no Christmas turkey,
just a pack of MREs.

They didn't have a garland
or a stocking I could see,
They didn't need an ornament
they lacked a Christmas Tree.

They didn't have a present
even though it was tradition,
the only boxes I could see
were labeled "ammunition."

I felt a little tug
and found my son now by my side,
He asked me what it was I feared,
and why it was I cried.

I swept him up into my arms
and held him oh so near
and kissed him on the forehead
as I whispered in his ear.

There's nothing wrong my little son,
for safe we sleep tonight,
Our heroes stand on foreign land
to give us all the right,

To worry on the things in life
that mean nothing at all,
Instead of wondering if we
will be the next to fall.

He looked at me as children do
and said it's always right,
to thank the ones who help us
and perhaps that we should write.

And so we pushed aside the bills
and sat to draft a note,
to thank the many far from home,
and this is what we wrote:

God Bless You all and keep you safe,
and speed your way back home.
Remember that we love you so,
and that you're not alone.

The gift you give you share with all,
a present every day,
You give the gift of liberty
and that we can't repay.

Joseph Patrick McQuigg

Around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 8 we received a phone call from Regena's mom. Regena's brother Joe had passed from this life of being confined to a wheelchair to walking the street of gold.

Needless to say things got busy for us. We began to make plans for a trip to Tyler, Texas. Regena really wanted me to make the trip with her. So first I had to make arrangements for Sunday December 16, knowing we would be out of town. Then arrangements to get to Texas, after prayer we knew we would have to travel by planes.

Monday morning we flew from Prince George to Vancouver, then Quick Shuttle to Seatac Airport at Seattle. (btw, Quick Shuttle had "wi fi" wireless internet, that was neat) Stayed the night at Super 8 motel then (Tuesday) at 5 o'clock we were at Seatac checking in our luggage. Then off to Denver, less then 35 minutes to get to the next flight. On to Dallas/Ft.Worth, where we rented a car and fought Dallas traffic for an hour. Had a Whataburger at Forney, Texas and made it to the viewing at 7:45, the view was over at 8:00.

The Funeral Service was at two on Wednesday, Regena sang and I read Psalm 23, Pastor Llyod McCaskell preached and did a great job. Afterwards, Willowbrook Baptist Church had a sit-down meal for family and friends from out of town.

On Wednesday evening we dropped in on the service of Central Baptist Church in Lindale, Texas. Our hearts were blessed of the Lord for this church and pastor.

Well, now the rest of the week, we have some business to help Grandma (Regena's mom) with concerning Joe. As well as a short visit with grandsons, daughters and the rest of the family, both McQuiggs and Hallmarks.

Thanks for your prayers, and I will get to posting soon.

WWJD - Fad

When you thought you have seen everything!!!

Nothing Profound:

I was asked about Romney's answer about the Bible during the Republican debate. Clearly, he responded exactly as he did for the two years of his misson. Faking and lying becomes a way of life for the LDS missionary kids. I don't think they all know what they're doing perhaps, but I've met so many who lie on purpose just to get us to embrace their faith. Those who know Mormonism often note something Mitt said and comment with a little disgust but no surprise, "He lied!"

I'm waiting for Mitt on the santitized version of the LDS on Thursday. I wonder who will be the author of the sript, maybe one of the big guys from the Quorum or someone from FARMS maybe? But hey, we've heard it all if a person just visits Temple Square a few times. Mormons have JESUS CHRIST in their name and often larger than all the other words of their faith, so of course they're Christians . . . they say.

I sure wish some of our Christian friends could be there to confront Mitt the way that it happens down at the Salt Lake temple. One good question and suddenly an old ram right before your eyes turns into an old lobo. All of the sweet greetings and sheep bleatings become as the cry of a wolfpack in the Yukon on a cold windy night. With some deep growls, SURPRISE! The fleece comes off and you're exposed to their fangs. How ironic, as just a question about Jesus Christ is all that it takes. Then watch out as the pack-in-black moves in to surround you like a moose calf on the ice when they rush you out of their lair.

Our countercult brothers and sisters surely have their PCs warming up because Americans will need some good answers. And maybe someone will invite Sandra Tanner or Ed Decker to speak on a radio broadcast someplace. But just hearing Mitt before the media, it's one message for America. "Baaa-baaa-baaa!" Decoded - "blah-blah-blah!"

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
I just hope America is sharp enough to see through him.

THE MORMON LEADERS HAVE SUITED UP

Question: What kind of suits do the LDS leadership wear, polyester or wool? Jesus told us in advance, "Beware of false prophets which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves" (Matt. 7:15). That means wool! When you hear that knock-knock on the door or see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on TV, you can say, "Yes! Thank you, Jesus, for telling me they’d be coming." Dressed like sheep, they arrive crying, "Baa, baa. We are Christians," and wearing their coats of fleece! However, if you are watchful you can always spot them because no masquerade can cover their long black "tales." Yet, I don't believe all misled missionary kids are wolf cubs who purposefully pretend to be lambs. The real bloodthirsty or "ravening" wolves are working out of the church office building in Salt Lake City.

One such tale is that the Book of Mormon was translated by "the gift and power of God" to be "the most correct of any book on earth" (BM Introduction). Mormonism keeps attacking the Bible but the Book of Mormon has endless problems. Time is the greatest enemy for every false prophet. Now the LDS defense is cracking again through the hard science of DNA and the Book of Mormon. (Viewed online at www.lhvm.org/streaming.htm). The evidence is so overwhelming that the LDS church is having to add a new word to the Book of Mormon introduction. How alarming across Utah, as seen by the sites below!

The Mormon leadership has no conscience, while blow-by-blow they know the facts and mislead people. So we will help to become their conscience by spreading the word. How humiliating to the First Presidency to be exposed and opposed on their own turf as they keep telling lies (Eph. 5:11). "Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar" (Pro. 30:5-6).

Single word change in Book of Mormon speaks volumes

Change proves Book of Mormon is myth

The greatest problem with this word change is that it challenges the credibility of virtually every prophet of the Mormon church. A great article outlines the enormity of this problem. The Christmas Pageant

My husband and I had been happily
Married (most of the time)
For five years
But hadn't been blessed with a baby.

I decided to do some serious
Praying and promised God
That if he would give us a

Child,
I would be a perfect mother,
Love it with all my heart
And raise it with His word
As my guide.

God answered my prayers
And blessed us with a son.

The next year God blessed us

With another son.

The following year,
He blessed us with
Yet another son.

The year after that we
Were blessed with a daughter.

My husband thought we'd
Been blessed right into poverty.
We now had four children,
And the oldest was only
Four years old.

I learned never to ask God
For anything unless I meant it.
As a minister once told me,
"If you pray for rain,
Make sure you carry an umbrella."

I began reading a few verses
Of the Bible to the children
Each day as they lay in their cribs.

I was off to a good start.
God had entrusted me
With four children and
I didn't want to disappoint Him.

I tried to be patient the day
The children smashed
Two dozen eggs on
The kitchen floor searching
For baby chicks.

I tried to be understanding. ..

When they started a hotel for
Homeless frogs in the spare bedroom, although it took me nearly two hours
To catch all twenty-three frogs.

When my daughter poured
Ketchup all over herself and
Rolled up in a blanket to see
How it felt to be a hot dog,
I tried to see the humour
Rather than the mess.

In spite of changing over
Twenty-five thousand diapers,
Never eating a hot meal
And never sleeping for more
Than thirty minutes at a time,
I still thank God daily for my children.

While I couldn't keep my promise
To be a perfect mother -
I didn't even come close...
I did keep my promise
To raise them in the Word of God.

I knew I was missing the mark
Just a little when I told
My daughter we were going
To church to worship God,
And she wanted to bring
A bar of soap along to
"wash up" Jesus, too.

Something was lost
In the translation when
I explained that
God gave us everlasting life,
And my son thought it was
Generous of God to give
Us his "last wife."

My proudest moment came
During the children's
Christmas pageant.

My daughter was playing Mary,
Two of my sons were shepherds
And my youngest son was a wise man.
This was their moment to shine.

My five-year-old shepherd
Had practiced his line,
"We found the babe wrapped
In swaddling clothes."

But he was nervous and said,
"The baby was wrapped
In wrinkled clothes."

My four-year-old "Mary" said,
"That's not 'wrinkled clothes,' silly.

That's dirty, rotten clothes."

A wrestling match broke out
Between Mary and the shepherd
And was stopped by an angel,
Who bent her halo and lost
Her left wing.

I slouched a little lower
In my seat when Mary
Dropped the doll representing
Baby Jesus, and it bounced
Down the aisle crying,
"Mama-mama."

Mary grabbed the doll,
Wrapped it back up
And held it tightly as
The wise men arrived.

My other son stepped forward
Wearing a bathrobe
And a paper crown,
Knelt at the manger
And announced,
"We are the three wise men,
And we are bringing gifts
Of gold,
Common sense
And fur."

The congregation
Dissolved into laughter,
And the pageant
Got a standing ovation.

"I've never enjoyed a Christmas
Program as much as this one,"
Laughed the pastor,
Wiping tears from his eyes.

"For the rest of my life,
I'll never hear the
Christmas story without
Thinking of
Gold,
Common sense
And fur."

"My children are my pride
And my joy and my greatest
Blessing," I said as I dug
Through my purse for an aspirin.

Jesus had no servants,
Yet they called Him Master.

Had no degree,
Yet they called Him Teacher.

Had no medicines,
Yet they called Him Healer.

Had no army,
yet kings feared Him.

He won no military battles,
yet He conquered the world.

He committed no crime,

yet they crucified Him.

He was buried in a tomb,
yet He lives today.

If you believe in
God and in Jesus Christ His Son,

Feel honoured
to serve such a Leader

who loves us.

Thanks Bro. Bob K.

Paganism Strong @ Vancouver 2010

Mascots unveiled for Vancouver Olympic Games

Organizers with the 2010 Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic Games unveiled three mascots and an honorary sidekick on Tuesday.

The Olympic mascots were presented during a 35-minute live show at the Bell Centre for Performing Arts in Surrey, B.C.

They include:

  • Miga -- a snowboarding sea-bear inspired by the First Nations' legends of the Pacific Northwest. Miga is part Spirit Bear, which is the official provincial mammal of British Columbia, and part orca whale.

  • Quatchi -- a shy and gentle Sasquatch with a long brown beard and blue earmuffs meant to conjure the mystery and wonder associated with the Canada's wilderness.

  • Sumi -- an animal spirit who flies with the wings of the thunderbird.

  • Mukmuk - a Vancouver Island marmot sidekick considered an honorary member of the mascot team.

More than 800 excited schoolchildren from eight different elementary schools were on hand for the announcement.

The new mascots were designed by Meomi Design based in Vancouver.

The mascots will appear in advertisements for the Games, official publications and websites, and will provide souvenir-minded Olympic fans with stuffed toys and other trinkets to take home.

They will also serve to "bring humour and light-hearted fun to the Games experience and help provide a warm welcome to athletes and visitors from around the world," the Vancouver Olympic Games website said ahead of the announcement.

The identities of the new mascots were a highly guarded secret ahead of Tuesday's announcement. Speculation swirled as to what distinctly Canadian symbols would represent the Games -- a moose, maple leaf, hockey puck, beaver, etc.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The ABC's of Our Statement of Faith

We Believe:

A. That the Bible is the Word of God, given by direct inspiration; and is infallible and inerrant. We believe specifically that the Authorized Version (KJV) is a correct translation of the Received Text (Textus Receptus) which has been divinely preserved from the original autographs given to the prophets and apostles by plenary inspiration of the Holy Spirit. This church does not accept or use any other translation in the English tongue (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

B. That there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Psalm 2:2,7; Psalm 139:1-16; Isaiah 63:10; John 4:24; 15:26; 16:7; James 1:17).

C. That the Lord Jesus Christ is the uniquely begotten Son of God, and fully man; that He was virgin-born, lived a sinless life, was crucified, died and was buried; that He was resurrected, ascended to the Father bodily and will return for His saints before He comes to judge the world and rule the world, and that Christ died for the sins of the world, and that His blood on Calvary has paid the full price for mankind's redemption and has eternal power to cleanse from all sin and save from Hell (Isaiah 7:l4; Matthew 24:29-3l; Luke 1:3l-35; John l:l,2; Romans 9:l5; 1 Corinthians l5:l-4; 2 Corinthians 5:l4,l5; Philippians 2:6-8; Revelation 3:l0).

D. That the Holy Spirit is a Person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgement; and that He is the supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers at salvation, indwelling them, and sealing them unto the day of redemption (John l6:l3; Ephesians 5:l8; 1 John 2:20,27).

E. That all men are by nature sinful and lost and that for eternal salvation, Holy Spirit regeneration is absolutely essential (John 3:5; Romans 3:24; 5:l; 6:l0; Ephesians 2:8,9; Titus 3:5; 1 John 2:2).

F. That men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ (Acts l6:3l; Romans 5:l; 2 Corinthians l5:l8-2l; Titus 3:5; 1 John 2:2).

G. That Satan is a person and that the lake of Fire is a place of eternal conscious punishment for all unsaved (Isaiah l4:l2-l4; Ezekiel 28:l4; Revelation. 20:7, ll-l5).

H. That a New Testament church is a local organized body of baptized believers practicing Scriptural ordinances and being actively engaged in fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19,20; 1 Corinthians 5:4; Ephesians 4:ll-l6; 5:23,24; Hebrews l0:25).

I. That all the redeemed, that is those who are "born-again", are kept by God's power, and are secure in Christ for eternity (John 6:37-40; l0:27-30; Romans 8:l,38,39; 1 Corinthians l:4-8; 1 Peter l:5).

J. That it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God's Word, which, however, clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to the flesh (Romans l3:l3,l4; Galatians 5:l3; Titus 2:ll-l5).

K. That sanctification is God's will for all believers and that it involves the believer's separation from the world, his cleansing in life, and complete dedication to Christ in service; but not the eradication of the Adamic nature. That all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Saviour and Lord; and, that separation from all religious apostasy, worldly practices and associations is commanded by God, including all forms of immorality and homosexuality (Romans l2:l,2; l4:l3; 2 Corinthians 5:l9,20; 2 Timothy 3:l-5: 1 John 2:l5-l7; 2 John 9-ll).

L. That water baptism by immersion following conversion is a symbolic ordinance setting forth the death, burial and resurrection of Christ; and the believer's union with Him in death and resurrection. That baptism is a Scriptural ordinance of the church requiring immersion of believers only, to be administered by the New Testament local church (Matthew 28:l9,20; Acts 2:38; l0:47; l6:33).

M. That the Lord's Supper is a Scriptural ordinance of the local church to be partaken of by the local church membership (1 Corinthians ll:23-34).

N. That there is a physical resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation (1 Corinthians l5:5l-57; 2 Corinthians 5:8; 1 Thessalonians 4:l4-l7; Revelation. 20:ll-l5).

O. That there will be a pre-millennial, pre-tribulation rapture of the saints (1 Thessalonians 4:l4-l7; Titus 2:l3; Revelation. 3:l0).

P. That the modern Charismatic Movement (i.e. tongues, prophecies, healers, signs and wonders, etc.) is not Biblical and we do not accept it as being from God.

Q. That the ecumenical drive to unite all religions into one super church is totally unscriptural.

Watch all of it (and make sure you have the sound on for the background music).......and, pass it on!!

Seven Reasons NOT to mess with Children

7 reasons not to mess with children.

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.

The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.

The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.

Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.

The little girl said, 'When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah'.

The teacher asked, 'What if Jonah went to hell?'

The little girl replied, 'Then you ask him'.

A Kindergarten teacher was observing her
classroom of children while they were drawing. She would
occasionally walk around to see each child's work.

As she got to one little girl who was working diligently,
she asked what the drawing was.

The girl replied, 'I'm drawing God.'

The teacher paused and said, 'But no one knows what
God looks like.'

Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing,
the girl replied, 'They will in a minute.'

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the
Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds.

After explaining the commandment to 'honour' thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, 'Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers
and sisters?'

Without missing a beat one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered, 'Thou shall not kill.'

One day a little girl was sitting and watching
her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother had several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head.

She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, 'Why are some of your hairs white, Mom?'

Her mother replied, 'Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white.'

The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said, 'Momma, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?'

The children had all been photographed, and
the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a
copy of the group picture.

'Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.'

A small voice at the back of the room rang out, 'And there's the teacher, she's dead.'

A teacher was giving a lesson on the
circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter
clearer, she said, 'Now, class, if I stood on my head,
the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would
turn red in the face.'

'Yes,' the class said.

'Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the
ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?'

A little fellow shouted,
'Cause your feet ain't empty.'

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of
a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray:

'Take only ONE . God is watching.'

Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.

A child had written a note, 'Take all you want. God is watching the apples.'
